Awesome game! May 11, 2010 Been There (Ca USA) Great storyline, excellent voice acting, creative and well integrated puzzles, interesting graphics, couldn't ask for anything more.
awesome game April 10, 2010 Stacy E. Blair game is wow awesome but difficult to solve perfect for any one interested in jack the ripper or sherlock holmes
they got it right this time February 21, 2010 LL (-) Frogwares`Sherlock Holmes game series have improved with each release and we must say Ripper, the latest installment, is almost a perfect modern adventure game. The story is gripping, graphics are crisp, the dialogue is very well written, and the puzzles make sense. We said almost just because a walkthrough is needed in several occasions when pathfinding is an issue. The biggest improvement is in the puzzle area: they are all relevant and some (such as the yiddish language vault) are truly exciting to solve.
Bravo to Frogwares - here is waiting for a new story from them
Jack the Ripper January 27, 2010 Jimfl47 (Orlando, FL) This game is similar to most adventure games that are out there and if you are into these games, like I am, it is well worth it. Some of the puzzles were a little hard for me so I had to cheat and use the walkthru. The game was fun to play and had a good story line to it. The other games in the Sherlock Holmes series are equals to this and if you like them you will like this one.
Don't buy this - waste yoour money on something else! January 14, 2010 Miss Conduct (UK) 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper
I am flabbergasted at the rave reviews this game has received. As a long time player of point and click puzzle games, I have played one or two and I would rather have thrown my money down the drain conveniently located near my front door than have bought this game. Being mercilessly beaten by a gang of thugs would be more pleasurable than playing this game. Spitting blood into the gutter after being mercilessly beaten by a gang of thugs would have more entertainment factor than listening to the voice "actors" and their turgid dialogue. The impenetrable gloom of the scenes and characters are nothing compared to the mindless tedium of the 'deduction' and 'conclusion' screens. And whilst the plot does indeed follow the details of the 'Jack the Ripper' murders the rest of the game leaves you feeling - who cares?! Avoid disappointment - don't buy this game. Just say no!
