We travel in a motor home and need to know when our next turn is coming up because we have 40ft of motor home and pulling a car making us about 60 ft long. This product has worked perfectly advising us when to get into the correct lane in plenty of time. The only thing that we did was add stand alone speakers to our lap top so that we could turn up the sound and hear the directions clearly.

1 out of 5 stars Defective software from a company that should know better   August 24, 2010
M. Poceski (Florida)
This is defective software that does not work on my computer (which is new and runs on the latest versions of Windows). I was able to install the software and go over the software-authentication protocols, but after that I have not been able to open it because of apparent software conflict engendered by Microsoft's poorly designed and overly aggressive anti-piracy protections features. I tried reinstalling the software a number of times, to no avail. Apparently this is a common problem, since Microsoft has posted instructions on its support page about how to deal with it. Unfortunately none of the solutions they suggest worked, and I wasted a good amount of time dealing with a problem that is primarily caused by corporate negligence and greed. The company has the right to fight piracy, but not at the expense of defrauding and alienating legitimate customers. I ended up installing the old version of the software to my new computer, which works fine. I would avoid using this and other Microsoft software, especially if there are viable alternatives from better and more ethical companies.

4 out of 5 stars Microsoft Streets & Trips 2010 with GPS Locator   August 18, 2010
Eddie Haskell (Mayfield USA)
This is it. Don't lose your way, like V'Ger did, consuming thousands of worlds, looking for the right GPS package. This software and GPS locator provides easy location, navigation and planning on your laptop while out and about. You can do all your detailed trip planning, before hand, at home, on your desktop if you like... or not, it's up to you. Easily locates nearby places, of the type you specify,(gas, restaurant, hotels, etc.), at the distance you specify, from either your current location or, entire current route.

Pros: accurate, inexpensive, easy to use, fast signal acquisition, can be installed and activated on 2 computers. works with or without internet connection.

Cons: longer USB GPS cord should be provided.

5 out of 5 stars Microsoft Streets & Trips with GPS Locator (2010)   July 31, 2010
Cajun Transplant (Southern Mississippi)
I've used this many times in the past year or so. It works great. My wife and I RV a lot, so it really gets a workout. I particularly like the "Find Nearby Places" tool. It has taken us to some great eating places. It contains so much information that I can't even come close to describing the content. Suffice to say, if you own a laptop that you can take on the road, this GPS/mapping program is a must.
