Product Description
Leave your destructive mark on the battlegroundProduct InformationThe Second World War was the most dramatic armed conflict in the history ofhumanity. However strategic advantages were often gained not through anoffensive of multi-thousand armies but thanks to the efforts of a small groupof specially trained soldiers – saboteurs.  They gain the rear of theenemy just like if they were invisible inflicting surprise blows to the core ofthe hostile defense. Using their vast combat experience they helped the army toproceed with a successful offensive and crush the enemy in all directionswithout leaving them any chance for victory.Silent Heroes gives you a chance to take the lead of a group of saboteurs andfulfill a number of highly complicated tasks in the rear of the German army:capture an enemy officer destroy hostile radars occupy a railroad station andtake part in the chase after a German “Tiger”.Experience a dramatic armed conflict in the history of humanity by taking control of special operaiton forces during World War II. Customer Reviews:
4 out of 5 stars A more challenging Soldiers: Heroes of WW 2   May 25, 2009
Tombo (Aiken, SC)
If you liked "Soldiers: Heroes of WW 2," you will like this as it's the exact same system. The missions are more challenging in that you are often seriously outnumbered (50 to 1 in some cases) and you never start with vehicles. In most of the 10 scenarios you can capture tanks and go crazy but repair kits are difficult to obtain.

Reviewers on other sites have downgraded this game because the missions are so difficult but this is only true if you haven't played "Soldiers." I thought some of the "Soldiers" missions were tougher, particularly those with a time limit. There are no time limit missions here (one is sort of, but not bad) and only Mission 10 is particularly hard because partrolling Germans find you within about 20 seconds of mission start when you're not ready for them (equipment wise).

Pluses:
1. Great system if you like RTS lite
2. Stable, it crashed about 3x on me, usually when something illogical was happening on the screen (i.e. a tank drives deep into a lake, then game exits).
3. Challenging missions

Minuses:
1. You are always the Russians and they speak Russian gibberish (who knows what they're saying, but the Germans usually call you an a**hole, in German, when you shoot 'em).
2. 10 Missions isn't a lot of bang for your buck, but worth it on the used game market.
3. The game did not evolve from its predecessor; it's exactly the same. There is one new vehicle in one mission but that's it.
