| Features:
| • | This is simply a solid, enjoyable, and challenging turn-based wargame set in the Civil War. CWG2 comes with a number of predetermined battles from which to choose. The game comes with two types of battles to choose from, 45 historical battles and more than 100 alternative ones. The alternative ones are usually smaller versions of the historical ones. Of great interest is the way the game handles campaigns. Not only does it string together varying numbers of individual scenarios but puts the emphasis on how well or poorly your army (you can play as either union or confederate) performs during battle. |

| Customer Reviews: XP Patch December 1, 2009 Jamin A. Conn (Anchorage) Hey, I used to play this with my brother in law back in the day and now we want to play it on xP. last year, i baught it for him for christmas and we did some research and now i want to refind that research. - i had hoped you guys had figured it out.
So..... last year, i found that some bright individuals had made a patch to play sierra games on windows xp. I currently can't remember the details but am looking for that patch so i can purchase it and play it with him via the internet. we love this game and are serious about making it happen this year as we had intended last year.
It is doable but it takes a patch.
why isn't this in XP format? September 22, 2009 Timothy Moss (Detroit MI) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I own "Civil War Generals 2" which is a great and realistic game. I was thrilled to see this game for sale.....what I did NOT see was that it is NOT in Windows XP format....therefore this game is useless to me.....what a shame.
Turn based war strategy excellence! November 19, 2007 Jasyn A. Rigdon (Stafford, VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm not a Civil War buff, I just find the simple strategic joy of crushing a larger oppossing force with well place battle lines on scouted terrain completely addictive. This is one of my favorite games of all time.
Possibly the best turn-based strategy game I've ever played November 16, 2007 G. Weed (Grosse Pointe, MI) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
For people who are enthusiastic turn-based strategy gamers, and who love Civil War games, this is one of the best investments you'll ever make. The game is very low on graphics but high on playability and allows you to fight the entire war, and the course of the war is determined by how well you do in battle, what weapons you purchase for your men, how badly you defeat the enemy, whether you capture any of their generals, etc. Great game and definitely worth the money.
